Jay Strongwater Jeweled Songbirds Desk Clock – Hand-Enameled Brass, Swarovski-Style Crystals, Replaced Quartz Insert – Rare Collector Piece
$135.00

Bring home a stunning piece of Jay Strongwater artistry — a jeweled songbird desk clock crafted in his signature hand-enameled, gem-studded style. Known for blending fine jewelry techniques with decorative objects, Strongwater’s pieces are prized by collectors for their incredible detail, weight, and luxury presentation.

This sculptural clock features two jeweled birds perched among enamelled leaves and branches, accented with sparkling crystals and iridescent cabochons. The original clock insert was missing when I acquired this piece, so I reached out directly to Jay Strongwater’s company to see if they still offered replacement clock inserts. They confirmed that while they do sell replacement inserts for some models, the insert for this particular design has been discontinued. Because an official replacement was no longer available, I carefully fitted the closest matching quartz insert — the polished gold-tone one currently installed — to complete the piece and restore its functionality.

The decorative base and sculptural housing are intact, undamaged, and pristine, with no chips, cracks, or missing stones. A beautiful standalone décor piece and a rare opportunity to own a Strongwater design at a more accessible price point.

Historical / Brand Context

Jay Strongwater began as a jewelry designer for the fashion industry, later expanding into high-end home décor using the same gem-setting and hand-enameling processes found in luxury jewelry. His earlier desk and mantle clocks, especially figural bird and floral designs, are highly collectible. Many are now discontinued and increasingly scarce on the secondary market.

This piece reflects the hallmark Strongwater aesthetic: ornate, jeweled, nature-inspired, and beautifully heavy, a true crossover between sculpture and functional décor.

Tiffany & Co. Swiss Made Brass Desk Clock – Authentic, Battery Included, Runs & Keeps Time
$145.00

A beautifully crafted Tiffany & Co. Swiss Made brass desk clock—sleek, minimal, and unmistakably luxurious. This round, weighty brass case features Tiffany’s classic white dial with black bar indices and gold hands, offering that clean Fifth Avenue design language the brand is known for.

The case is unengraved and undedicated, meaning there are no personalized inscriptions, monograms, or corporate gift markings. It’s a pristine, neutral example ready for display or gifting, without any odd or unwanted wording on the brass.

This clock runs smoothly, keeps time accurately, and includes a fresh battery, so it’s ready to display the moment it arrives.

Inside the backplate is the factory-stamped serial code “215376”, which corresponds to Tiffany’s internal production numbering system. These stamped numbers help identify original cases from the brand’s Swiss workshop and verify that the movement and housing are authentic to Tiffany’s manufacturing era.

Your purchase also includes a digital authentication certificate with a scannable QR code (photographed in the listing). Buyers can scan it with any smartphone to view the certification details. An easy, modern way to provide secure provenance.

A refined collector’s piece, a luxury gift, or the perfect finishing touch for an elevated desk or bedside stack.

R & C (Paris) Brass Carriage Clock – Late 19th Century French Travel Timepiece
$325.00

From the golden age of French horology, this brass carriage clock by R & C of Paris captures the precision and craftsmanship that made late-Victorian travel clocks both fashionable and functional. The polished case, beveled-glass panels, and original mechanical escapement visible through the top window reveal a miniature engineering marvel built to accompany gentlemen on the railway or sea voyage.

Stamped “R & C – Made in Paris” on the backplate, this clock reflects the tradition of Paris-assembled movements sold through British and continental retailers between the 1880s and early 1900s. The movement appears complete, with balance wheel, lever escapement, and winding arbor present.

Whether fully restored or displayed as a historical artifact, this piece embodies the mechanical artistry of pre-electric timekeeping — a bridge between workshop craftsmanship and early industrial precision.

Maker: R & C (Richard & Cie, Paris)
Material: Solid brass case with beveled glass panels
Movement: Mechanical spring-wound, stamped R & C Paris

Our
company ethos (Timekeeper’s Attic & Co.)

At Timekeeper’s Attic & Co., we believe time isn’t measured in minutes — it’s measured in stories. Each clock in our collection once marked someone’s laughter, a late-night conversation, or a quiet morning long past. We restore and preserve these moments, curating heirlooms from across decades and centuries so they can tick again in new hands. Our mission is simple: to honor the craft, character, and curiosity of timekeeping and to share that beauty with those who still pause to listen for the sound of it.

What began as a fascination with forgotten clocks grew into a passion for preserving history in motion. Timekeeper’s Attic & Co. is a celebration of craftsmanship, patience, and the poetry of passing hours, each piece a bridge between yesterday and tomorrow.
