Vintage Christian Dior Crystal Rose Desk Clock
A striking vintage Christian Dior desk clock carved from clear crystal and surrounded by a wreath of frosted roses. At its center sits a warm gold-tone quartz clock insert with a cream dial, black Arabic numerals, and the Christian Dior name tucked neatly beneath 12 o'clock.
The contrast is what makes this one special. Clear polished crystal gives way to deeply frosted roses, while the gold-tone clock practically floats in the center. The original oval Christian Dior / CRYSTAL / JAPAN label remains in place above the dial.

Somewhere between a Paris couture house and a Japanese clock workshop, somebody decided a perfectly ordinary desk clock simply wasn't going to cut it.
Christian Dior established his House at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris in 1946, and flowers were never merely decoration in Dior's world. Christian Dior grew up around the rose gardens of his family's home in Granville, Normandy, and the rose became one of the House's recurring motifs. Dior itself describes the rose as the founding couturier's favorite flower and traces its influence back to his earliest fashions.
Fast-forward several decades, add Japan's booming quartz-clock industry, and you get something like this: a battery-powered timekeeper surrounded by a surprisingly hefty piece of sculpted crystal. The roses are formed in frosted relief within the clear body, giving them depth without adding color, while the gold-tone clock insert does the actual work in the middle.
It is a very 1980s combination of things that had no particular reason to work together, French luxury branding, Japanese quartz precision, floral crystal, and unapologetic gold, yet somehow they do.
